Joey Lugassy and Jess Wall met through mutual friend and Multi-Emmy Award Winner RC Cates in 1997. Through the following years Lugassy and Wall have forged a collaborative bond which has become the core of DAYSIX. Their first CD, ADAM has opened many doors for the band and they immediately became favorites at Luna Park in West Hollywood and the coveted "Foundation Room" at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. The DAYSIX sound is a unique blend of influences. "A few of the artists that really turn us on are David Bowie, Counting Crows, the pop side of Radiohead, Incubus and the current British Invasion of so called smart rock, including Coldplay and Travis. Whether these influences come through in our sound or not I think is up to the listener," states Wall. Earlier this year DAYSIX completed their latest CD, "Hello Goodbye". This follow up to ADAM continues their deep, slightly quirky, line of introspect and commentary on life and growing up in this world while keeping a strong "hook" sensibility. To put the finishing touches on Hello Goodbye, DAYSIX enlisted Kenji Nakai (Tom Petty, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.) to engineer and mix.

With a newly built state-of-the-art, recording studio, the two are currently hard at work with their, as of yet, untitled third CD. The collaborative effort between Lugassy and Wall is stronger than ever on this work and the band is planning to book many shows this upcoming year.

Highlights for the band this year include the opportunity to shoot a video in conjunction with Amnesty International for DAYSIX's latest single, "Today (A Song For Amnesty)". The single fell into the hands of the Artist Relations head for A.I. and the band was immediately contacted to shoot a video with full access to Amnesty's archive base in New York. The result is a moving montage of the struggle for justice around the world concluding with a sobering reminder of our children. The video debuted as the kickoff for the first annual Amnesty International Film Festival held at The Directors Guild Of America in Los Angeles and keep your eye out for a Public Service Announcement using this video as well. The video was directed by Richard Moreno and all parties involved donated their time to Amnesty and the band to be involved in this amazing project.
